Synopsis：From a human standpoint, the Himalayas are characterized by elevation, isolation, and sparse population. The dizzying altitudes of the villages one encounters are enough to make one sick, quite literally, and it's no surprise that only the hardiest of people inhabit the alpine hamlets found in these mountains. Their lives are filled with hardship that is exacerbated by the difficulty of travel from valley to valley through formidable mountain passes, but mitigated by the spiritual connection that they have with their surroundings and each other. But it is not only the human residents of the Himalayas who possess the robustness needed to call these mountains home. The Himalayan highlands are filled with creatures perfectly adapted for this harsh, usually frozen region.
