简介：In the late Qing Dynasty, the court was in chaos, the people were destitute, and foreign powers encroached upon the nation. The Manchu officials indulged in pleasure-seeking, oppressing the people at home and groveling to foreigners abroad. Martial arts flourished among the common folk, giving rise to renowned sects such as the Yanzi Sect and the Hongwu Escort Agency. However, during the later period of the Boxer Rebellion, the imperial court’s “Thirteen Eagles” wiped out these sects. Li San, a survivor of the Yanzi Sect, narrowly escaped and spent years seeking revenge, but to no avail. Meeting the beautiful Bai Ling, he was instead framed as a revolutionary. Harboring both familial and national grievances, he ultimately burned down the yamen, annihilated the Thirteen Eagles, and headed south to join the national salvation movement.
