简介：Philippe Bastien, heir to one of Paris’s richest conglomerates, has always lived with the world at his feet, never questioning the source of his family’s immense fortune. Behind the glamour, however, lies a powerful secret society and an old clause that binds its members: as heir, Philippe must marry the daughter of one of his father’s partners to renew their alliance and safeguard their wealth. Ava Dubois, only daughter of equally wealthy businessman Martin Dubois, has always despised the excess, parties, and constant media attention that come with her last name. Determined to live quietly and out of the spotlight, she is stunned when she’s summoned home to fulfill a marriage contract she never agreed to. Irritated by Philippe’s arrogant playboy image, yet unable to refuse her father, Ava reluctantly accepts the arrangement. Philippe, who never gives “plain” women a second glance, is shocked by Ava’s simple appearance and low-key demeanor, wondering how someone like her could belong to such a powerful family. Their personalities clash from the very beginning, and their forced union promises anything but a fairytale—unless they can break free from the contract or, against all odds, truly fall in love.
