简介：Layla Nott has been hopelessly in love with Seth Upton since her teenage years, even willingly handing over her vast inheritance to help him build Upton Group, elevating the Upton family into one of the most powerful clans in Yeldon. Yet ever since she married into the Uptons, her health has rapidly declined. One day, after returning home from a medical appointment, she walks in on Seth tangled up with her stepsister, Sharon Black—and Seth’s mother, Susan Upton, is right there, openly condoning the affair. Humiliated by Sharon and Susan, Layla is shattered when Seth coldly admits that he never loved her; he only wanted her money, and he has already taken out a massive life insurance policy in her name, just waiting for her to die. Crushed and disillusioned, Layla feels her life has been nothing but a cruel joke. Impatient for her “natural” death, Seth lures her to the rooftop and pushes her over the edge. As she plunges toward the ground, Layla makes a vicious vow: if she is ever given another chance at life, she will take her revenge and make every last one of them pay for their betrayal.
