简介：While I was being tortured to death by a vengeful criminal my father once put behind bars, my parents were in the stands, cheering for their biological daughter Lily Lambert at her big match—my father the head of the major crimes unit, my mother the chief forensic pathologist. To exact revenge, the killer cut out my tongue and used my phone to call my dad. On the other end, he said only one thing before hanging up: “No matter what’s happening, Lily’s match is the only priority today.” The criminal sneered, “Looks like I kidnapped the wrong girl. So they do love their real daughter more.” Later, at the scene, my parents stared in horror at the mutilated corpse, cursing the murderer’s cruelty—never realizing that the anonymous, butchered body on the cold slab was their own forgotten child.
